A family was forced to relocate yesterday after the wall at a neighbouring construction site collapsed.
Joseph Nicholson, a long-time resident of Hastings Main Road, Christ Church, said the wall surrounding what will be an eight-storey building, buckled under the pressure of the heavy rainfall around 5:30 p.m.
Nicholson however said he felt the wall was unstable for some time.
“We had a lot of rain today, but I had been calling and trying to get the owners to do something about it for three months because I knew it was going to collapse. I had a meeting with the owner this morning, nice guy, and he said he was going to take care of it for me and put some trusses in because it looked like it was going to go. (TG)
