One person has been charged and two others may also face prosecution as Barbados cracks down on people breaching COVID-19 quarantine protocols after they arrive in the island.

Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic revealed this yesterday as he emphasised that Government will not compromise the health of Barbadians by allowing those on quarantine to get away with ignoring the rules to stay indoors and away from family, friends and the general public.

“One person has been charged so far and one person who went missing and the police actually had him in custody yesterday, and I believe a second one today. But a decision to charge, that is being investigated at the moment by the police and then we will see where we go from there,” Bostic said.

He added the police would soon release the details of who had been charged under the emergency legislation. (SR)
