The Barbados Football Association (BFA) has signed a historic memorandum of understanding with the Emmerson Boyce Foundation, which will see football on the island develop to a higher level.

It’s all part of the BFA plans to help shape the sport towards an international standard for young Barbadian footballers to benefit from the game.

During a press conference yesterday at the Wildey Gymnasium, St Michael, BFA president Randy Harris and former national defender and Wigan Athletic captain Emmerson Boyce signed the MOU to officially form a working relationship.

“It has been a pleasure so far working with them and discussing. They have the experience, knowledge and training to help us with our programmes here. Emmerson and his team have a plan, which has worked already, and which they are sure will beef up women’s football in Barbados. We are going to ensure that it is a success because of our support and the support of the people around,” Harris told members of the media. (AGB)
