Barbadians were lined up at the polling stations for the St George North by-election before the 6 a.m. start.

At Valley Resource Centre a senior electoral officer said there was a “big crowd” from early.

Alicia Alleyne-Webb said she wanted to vote before she went to work, adding she was “over excited”

“I believe who I have chosen will do a lot for the people of St George North. The line was a bit long, I did not know so many people would be here, but it moved smoothly,” she said.

Alleyne-Webb said she would be glued to her television this evening and would be back at the Resource Centre later in the day.

The votes will be counted at the St George Secondary School. (CA)
