A visitor from Germany has tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). She arrived on Euro Wing on November 7 and tested positive after her second test on November 9.
The 47-year-old woman was the only positive case among the 524 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Monday. No one was discharged from isolation yesterday.
Meanwhile, five more visitors have been diagnosed with COVID-19 after undergoing second tests.
Two people will be discharged from isolation today after recovering from the viral illness.
The new cases identified in results released today by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory are a 43-year-old man who arrived from Jamaica on Caribbean Airlines on November 1; two women, aged 41 and 18, who arrived on British Airways on November 5; a 29-year-old woman who arrived on British Airways on November 3; and a 25-year-old man who arrived on American Airlines on November 8.
Barbados has now recorded 249 cases. Of these, 233 people have recovered and nine remain in isolation. Seven people have died.
The laboratory conducted 329 tests yesterday, bringing the total for the year to 40 575. (BGIS)
