A group of Guyanese will be back at the Grantley Adams Airport early this morning hoping to leave after a delay in their COVID-19 test results caused them to be bumped from Caribbean Airlines flights yesterday.
The stranded 34 men and women were afraid that after the polyclinics took so long to give the results, the 72-hour requirement would put their departure in further jeopardy since they had the tests on Wednesday.
Under the protocols, travellers must present a COVID-19 negative result done 72 hours prior to departure.
The passengers said the tests were done at Winston Scott Polyclinic, the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic and the Branford Taitt Polyclinic but rather than receiving their results they were given letters indicating the results were “pending”. With their flights already booked, panic set in yesterday as they were still without the results. (AC)
