A man who walked out of quarantine to buy a sweet drink to satisfy a craving, was jailed for six months by the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

“This is crazy,” Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes declared as he dealt with Dean George Scott.

“I don’t know what message I would be sending if I don’t send a strong message to you because there wasn’t no really good reason for you to be doing this,” he told the Jamaican.

“You tell me you had a craving and you could have put everybody at risk you don’t know. People coming in, negative tests, people coming in asymptomatic. You cannot leave quarantine.”

Scott, 49, a mason, was a guest at Crystal Beach Hotel . . . (HLE)
