Scores of people are at the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic in Warrens, St Michael, waiting to undergo assessments by public health officials, to determine if they are to be tested for COVID-19.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Wellness made a public appeal for people who attended a bus crawl on Boxing Day, which was organised by Jason Gittens, to go to the polyclinic for assessment.

People in close contact with anyone who attended the bus crawl were asked to go to the polyclinic on Saturday between  9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Those who do not have transportation were advised to call the COVID hotline at 5364500 and avoid taking public transportation.

By Friday night, government officials announced 45 people who attended the bus crawl tested positive for COVID-19, leading to the closure of several businesses. It has since be identified as a super spreader event. (SAT)
