Drunk on something stronger than the beer he usually enjoys, Fabian Haydan McDonald found himself throttling his girlfriend because she had not prepared his fish.

Yesterday, he told the District “D” Magistrates’ Court he “felt bad about the matter because that is not usually me. I apologise to Ms Bourne for my actions and it will never happen again. I will stay away from alcohol”.

McDonald, 40 and self-employed, of Upper Tudor Bridge, St Michael, had just admitted assaulting Tahirah Bourne on January 2. However, he denied assaulting and resisting Constable Kenroy Ashton on the same date.

Prosecutor Constable Sayleen Hinds said the two had been a couple for about four years and were living together. (HLE)
