Family homeless after fire

About 12 people are said to be homeless after fire gutted a house at Doughlin’s Gap, Weston, St James.

The wooden structure, which was split in three sections, caught fire just after 7 p.m. today. Those in the home range in age from six months to 74 years old, Nation News understands.

The owner had just returned and nothing was saved.

Scores of people are on the scene and the family is awaiting the arrival of parliamentary representative Edmund Hinkson.

Police and fire officials are also on the scene. (AGB)
