BARBADOS PRIDE head coach Dexter Toppin has boldly predicted a win for his side in their opening match of the West Indies Super50 Cup against Guyana Jaguars today, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Toppin said his side had prepared well over the last four months and he was supremely confident they will conquer the Jaguars in the tournament’s second match, a day/night contest at the Coolidge Cricket Ground on the outskirts of the Antigua and Barbuda capital of St John’s.

His confidence comes from the fact that Pride have won four of the last five matches between the two sides in the Super50 Cup in the Professional Cricket League era over the past six seasons.

“It is going to be a competitive game and I think we should get the better of the Jaguars,” Toppin said.

“If you look at how the Jaguars have played over the last few years in the one-day tournament, they have not shown that they are a very strong team.” (AR)
