Four youngsters attached to the Nature Fun Ranch in Bruce Vale, St Andrew, who were accused of beating and scalding a 14-year-old boy, have been warned by the police of intended prosecution.
Tara Mahalia-Smith, the boy’s mother, told the MIDWEEK NATION this was communicated to her yesterday by police officers who investigated the incident at the ranch.
The ranch, which was founded by talk show host Corey Lane, operates a youth programme focusing on outdoor activities and youth development.
Mahalia-Smith said she was hoping that two other boys who were also involved in the incident would be charged.
“The police told us they would be warned of intended prosecution and they would be sent a summons to come to court. It is disturbing to me how things are going because I am seeing people being dragged before the courts every day and now they are saying to me they do not know when these guys would be going to court. It just feeling to me as if this situation is not being taken seriously.” (MB)
