Twelve vaccination centres will be open tomorrow and only those with appointments will be seen, says public health specialist Dr Elizabeth Ferdinand, who is also Co-coordinator of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign.

She said the majority of those to be vaccinated Saturday will be people in the over-70 age group, although she said shop assistants and gas station attendants would also be accommodated since all gas stations and shops are closed over the weekend.

Ferdinand appealed to Barbadians who have complained about standing in long lines awaiting the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to have patience and hold strain.

“We will get to you,” she assured.

Ferdinand said 2 902 people were vaccinated today, while in total, 14 441 people have been inoculated. (CM)
