Don’t forget us!

That’s the cry of some of the homeless and vulnerable people on the streets of Barbados.

At Jubilee Gardens in The City, a small group of homeless people there said they were upset that they did not receive any of Government’s 60 000 care packages.

Deon Nicholls, who once worked at Pirate’s Cove and speaks fluent Japanese and Spanish, said homeless people were vulnerable too and that qualified them to receive a Government hamper.

“None of us got packages and it seems that only people who live in houses got. The only difference between us and people who have fallen short on their rent and are about to get put out is that they are in a structure while we are on the streets.” (SB)
