The gun-toting burglar who stormed a house with his cutlass-wielding accomplice said he panicked, accidentally squeezed the trigger and “shot the tourist”.
These were some of the facts read to the No. 4 Supreme Court when Alexander Patrick Alleyne and Travis Orin Campbell reappeared yesterday.
Alleyne, of Ealing Grove Gardens, Christ Church, and Campbell, of no fixed place of abode, had pleaded guilty to entering Robert Elliott’s house on February 22, 2020, with intent to steal, and at the time of the entry they had a firearm and a cutlass.
They also pleaded guilty to the lesser, alternative count of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Kenneth Elliott – Robert’s brother – on the same date, but denied unlawfully and maliciously wounding him with intent.
They were both represented by attorney Ryan Moseley.
Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell ordered pre-sentencing reports on the two and adjourned the matter until May 14. (HLE)
