Darian King is back on the baseline.
Barbados’ best tennis player made a winning return to competitive tennis on Tuesday, defeating fifth seed Mitchell Krueger 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 on the ATP Challenger tour in Cleveland, Ohio, United States.
It’s the first time King has played a match in 12 months after undergoing surgery for a troubling wrist injury.
“Obviously, it feels great to be back playing again. It has been a full year without me being on the tour and to get my first win is awesome, especially against a tough opponent like Mitchell who has accomplished a lot in his career,” King told NATION SPORT during a telephone interview.  (AGB)
