People who test positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) will be eligible to receive a vaccine three to six months after being affected by the virus.

As a result, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised people with a positive COVID-19 test to wait.

“There has been some misinformation making the rounds among the general public that the vaccine could be administered sooner. However, public health officials advise that individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 should wait until the recommended time period, so that they can safely receive their vaccinations,” a brief statement from the ministry said.
