Inniss sentenced to 24 months

Barbadian Donville Inniss was today sentenced to 24 months by the Eastern District Court of New York.

Inniss, a former minister of Government, appeared before United States Judge Kiyo Matsumoto. He was facing five to eight years after being convicted of two counts of money laundering and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

His wife Gail, former attorney general Adriel Brathwaite and Rev. Guy Hewitt were also in court today.

Inniss, who is represented by attorney Joel Hirschhorn, earlier indicated he would appeal the sentence.
