Some NAB workers want answers on late salaries

About 15 workers at the National Assistance Board (NAB) visited the statutory corporation’s headquarters in Country Road, St Michael this morning around 8 to seek clarity on their salary payment.

Workers explained that some of them were yet to receive their second bi-monthly payment for April, which was supposed to be on their accounts by the 30th of that month.

They said they were experiencing salary payment issues for years but the matter reached a boiling point last weekend, and as the country commemorated Labour Day last Saturday, it was disrespectful that they were not paid by that day.

Workers were also concerned about the lack of personal protective equipment, disrespect from management and the lack of communication between management and staff.

National Union of Public Workers Industrial relations officer, Christian Rock, was also on the scene. (SB)
