Former hotel workers stage another protest

For the second time in about three weeks, former hotel workers came together to protest about the money they are owed.

From around 9:30 a.m., close to 20 workers from Accra Beach Hotel and the Hilton Barbados Resort, took up placards and picketed by the entrance of the latter at Needhams Point, St Michael.

Many of the disgruntled staff who worked in administration, housekeeping and maintenance, said despite assurances from authorities, they still have not received any compensation since they were sent home last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

They said they would continue to agitate, not just for themselves, but to ensure this problem did not happen again to other workers.

On April 27, about 40 former workers protested at The Abidah by Accra Barbados in Enterprise Beach Road, Christ Church. (TG)
