Formula 3 driver Zane Maloney hopes to put the lessons learned in Barcelona to good use when the 2021 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) heads to France for the third and fourth rounds in two weeks’ time.
A promising start to the season at the Imola Circuit in mid-April was followed by a tough time for Maloney and his R-ace GP teammates last weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona in Spain, with Maloney finishing ninth in both races after less than desirable pre-race qualifying results.
Nevertheless, the 17-year-old is confident about his team’s chances in France at monthend in what is the first and only back-to-back racing weekend of this year’s championship.
The Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo will play host to the third round, May 22-23, while the championship relocates to the Circuit Paul Ricard in southeastern France, May 28-29. (NM)
