Three charged with murdering policeman

Police charged three men in connection with the May 22 murder of acting station sergeant Newton Lewis.

They are Corey Antonio Morris, 43 of Egret Drive, Graeme Hall Park, Christ Church and also of Godding Road, Station Hill, St Michael; Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St Michael and Jason Shamin Blenman, 26 years, of Powder Road, Station Hill, St  Michael.

They are also facing additional charges as listed below:

Police have also formally charged the following that they on the 22nd day of May 2021 entered the dwelling house of Dakovan Husbands as a trespasser and stole property valued three thousand, four hundred and sixty-five dollars ($3 465) Barbados currency:

  1. Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
  2. Jason Shamin Blenman, 26 years, of Powder Road, Station Hill, St Michael.

In addition, police have formally charged the following that they on the 22nd day of May 2021 without lawful excuse damaged one building belong to Colin Jordan:

  1. Corey Antonio Morris, 43 years of Egret Drive, Graeme Hall Park, Christ Church and also of Godding Road, Station Hill, St Michael.
  2. Jim Ron Fenty,26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
  3. Jason Shamin Blenman, 26 years, of Powder Road, Station Hill, St. Michael.

Police further formally charged the following that they on the 22nd day of May 2021 unlawfully and maliciously or recklessly engaged in conduct which placed Lionel Ward in danger of death or serious bodily harm:

  1. Corey Antonio Morris, 43 years, of Egret Drive, Greame Hall, Park, Christ Church and also of Godding Road, Station Hill, St. Michael.
  2. Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
  3. Jason Shamin Blenman, 26 years, of Powder Road, Station Hill, St. Michael.

Corey Antonio Morris, 43 years, of Graeme Hall Park, Christ Church and also of Godding Road, Station Hill, St. Michael was also charged that he on the 22nd day of May 2021 used a firearm without a licence authorising him to do so.

Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael was also charged that he on the 22nd day of May 2021 used a firearm without a licence authorising him to do so.

In the District ‘B’ Station area:

  1. Police have formally charged the following that they on the 4th day of May 2021 having entered the dwelling house of Roger Smith as trespassers stole property valued ten thousand, eight hundred dollars ($10,800.00) Barbados Currency and at the time they were armed with firearms:
  2. Corey Antonio Morris, 43 years, of Egret Drive, Graeme Hall Park, Christ Church and also of Godding Road, Station Hill, St. Michael.
  3. Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
  4. Jason Shamin Blenman, 26 years, of Powder Road, Station Hill, St. Michael.
  5. Police have also formally charged Jim Ron Fenty, 26 years, of 20B Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St. Michael that he on the 4th day of May 2021 without the consent of Owner Roger Smith or other lawful authority took a conveyance namely a Toyota Axio motor car for the use of himself.

They are all scheduled to appear at the Holetown Magistrates Court on Tuesday June 15, 2021. (PR/SAT)
