Teachers at Princess Margaret Secondary School are calling for an improvement in the COVID-19 protocols as they grapple with a second case of the virus for the year.
A source told the Saturday Sun that some members of the teaching staff want to see sanitisation stations placed throughout the Six Roads, St Philip school. The source said teachers raised the issue yesterday in an online chat.
“We need a sanitising programme at the school. At present, this is done by the ancillary staff after school. They come around with a bucket and a rag. We are going to have a serious issue some day because teachers conduct classes without masks and the students sit before them without masks,” a teacher noted.
The source said some teachers left the school yesterday after receiving an email from principal Dr Wendy Lewis that a fourth former had tested positive, and discovering that the school would not be closed. (MB)
