ST GEORGE’S – West Indies suffered at the hands of Player Of The Match Aiden Markram and left-handed opener Quinton de Kock, and then watched their own batting misfire again, as South Africa claimed the five-match Twenty20 International series with a 25-run win yesterday in Grenada.

Entering the decisive contest at the National Cricket Stadium with the series in the balance at 2-2, the Windies failed to chase down a victory target of 169 and stumbled to their sixth Twenty20 International series loss in their last nine outings.

Dashing opener Evin Lewis topscored with 52 from 34 deliveries and fellow left-hander Shimron Hetmyer made 33.

Lungi Ngidi led the South African attack with three for 32 from his allotted four overs, and fellow pacers Kagiso Rabada and Wiaan Mulder claimed two wickets apiece to rattle the hosts, who slumped from 75-2 in the tenth over to lose seven wickets for 68 runs in the space of 59 balls. (AJR)
