Eight new COVID cases

The 1 015 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, July, 9, identified eight new COVID-19 cases.

The three females and five males take the number or people in isolation up to 58.

Barbados recorded 4 136 confirmed cases of the virus – comprising 2 000 females and 2 136 males – since March 2020.  The viral illness claimed 48 lives.

The public health laboratory carried out 193 398 tests.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 96 174 people received the first doses of the vaccine.  The number of persons who were administered both doses and are fully vaccinated is 72 329. (BGIS)
