Formula 3 driver Zane Maloney’s double podium weekend in the sixth round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium has reignited his desire to make a serious push for the driver’s championship as well as the team championship with R-ace GP.
Maloney’s heroics helped him move up to third in the driver’s standings, with three confirmed rounds of racing still to go.
The previously scheduled seventh round at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany was cancelled due to heavy rain and floods across northern and central Europe. A new venue for the tenth round will soon be announced.
The 17-year-old was in impressive form in the third round at Circuit de Monaco, finishing second in Race 1 and winning Race 2 the following day. (NM)
