Barbadian quarter miler Sada Williams qualified for the semifinals of the women’s 400 metres after placing third in heat one at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Monday night.
The 23-year-old posted a time of 51.36 seconds in what was her maiden Olympic event after missing out on 2016’s proceedings due to injury.
Bahamian Shaunae Miller-Uibo cruised to the finish line in a winning time of 50.5 seconds while Roxana Gomez of Cuba finished second in 50.76 seconds. (NM)
