Police identify victim in fatal shooting

Police identified the victim of the fatal shooting this morning in St James as 34-year-old Jamar Andre Corbin.

After receiving a report of a shooting around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a residence in Risk Road, Fitts Village, and determined that a man went to Corbin’s residence, knocked, and started shooting when the victim opened the door.

Corbin was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private motor car, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
