The Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance is working on three bridges in Barbados.

Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill said they were located at Date Tree Hill, St Peter; Bruce Vale, St Andrew and Baird’s Village in St George.

Speaking on Starcom Network’s Down To Brass Tacks on Wednesday, Gooding-Edghill said the crew ruptured an old cast iron main at Date Tree Hill that cut off the water supply to districts in the north.

The crew worked over the weekend and repairs to the main are continuing.

Date Tree Hill will remain closed for six months, the estimated duration of the project.

Gooding-Edghill said the bridge at Bruce Vale has to be redesigned and strengthened. (SAT)
