Stuart Maloney completed the double at the Motoring Club of Barbados Incorporated’s (MCBI) HammerTime Speed event last Sunday at Bushy Park.

Driving the VP Fuels/Chevron/Bushy Park Barbados/Rock Hard Cement/Sign station Skoda Fabia R5, he proved to be too much for the opposition on the specially laid course to return the fastest times in both sections of the event with an international flavour.

Maloney was fastest in Section 1 with a time of three minutes, 09.22 seconds, done on his third outing on the course.

He finished ahead of Britain’s Rob Swann, who was at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta WRC and clocked three mins, 10.53 secs, and rising star Adam Mallalieu, driving the Terra Caribbean Ford Fiesta R5, whose posted 3:14.73.

The younger Mallalieu was a shade faster than his well-known father, Andrew, with whom he share the car and who returned a time of 3:15.73. (TT)
