Health officials are grappling with another church cluster.
Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic said last night that the authorities were forced to close the church and start contact tracing after 13 people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
During a televised press briefing also involving Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Bostic said he remained worried about the number of poorly ventilated structures being used in Barbados for religious services, since those conditions could be leading to further transmission of the viral illness.
It is the third time a church has been closed by public health officials since the virus first struck Barbados in March 2020.
