BASSETERRE – Barbadian Roston Chase produced a solid all-round effort as St Lucia Kings stunned reigning champions Trinbago Knight Riders for a thrilling five-run victory yesterday in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 tournament at Warner Park.

Man-of-the-Match Chase made 30 off 24 balls with two fours and a six as the Kings rallied to 157-5 in their 20 overs after they were sent in.

After slumping to 69 for four in the 10th over, Chase and Singapore’s Tim David featured in a 68-run fifth wicket stand to revive the innings.

David hit three sixes and three fours in the top score of 43 off 32 balls, while Andre Fletcher (28) and Rahkeem Cornwall (23) posted 51 off 34 deliveries for the first wicket. (EZS/CMC)
