31 more COVID cases in Barbados

Thirty-one people – 15 males and 16 females – are the latest COVID-19 cases.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1 557 tests on Thursday, September 2 and the new cases comprise 25 who are 18 years old and over, and six under the age of 18.

There are currently 425 persons in isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 5 183 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2 551 females and 2 632 males), and 51 deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 268 124 tests.

To date, 113 404 people received first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. Meanwhile, 95 035 persons or 35.1 per cent of the population received second doses, and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
