A warring landlord and tenant will face off again later this month when they return to the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Yesterday, when Mervin Orlando Haynes, a 28-year-old labourer, of Belleview Gap, Waterford, St Michael, appeared in that court, which is sitting at the Cane Garden Complex in St Thomas, he pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously inflicting serious bodily harm on Damien Haynes (no relation) on September 18.

Magistrate Manila Renee released Mervin with a surety of $750 and adjourned the matter until September 28, when the complainant is expected to appear and give his side of the events.

Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Prescod said both Hayneses lived at the same address, with Mervin being owner of the house. (HLE)
