Arthur Seat resident ‘rained in’

Residents in a section of Arthur Seat, St Thomas were flooded out within minutes of a downpour this evening.

Karen Sargeant provided this video showing the water outside her daughter Krystal’s home.

She said that they have been calling the drainage section of the Ministry of Transport Works and Maintenance since October last year to have the nearby drain cleared, but no one has shown up so far.

“If she is inside she cannot come out and if she is outside she cannot go in,” Karen said of Krystal’s plight.

She explained that when the drain is clear, the water is channelled in the right direction but when it is not the result is severe flooding that even goes inside the house. (AC)
