A woman who collapsed and died in St James today has been identified as Pamela Medford, 65, of Fitts Village, St James.

Police were at Trents, St James this morning, at a bus stop for people travelling north.

A statement from police said it was reported around 7:30 a.m. “that a mature woman had collapsed whist sitting at the bus stop”.

“She had previously complained of feeling unwell to other persons there.”

People who witnessed the incident summoned ambulance personnel, who responded and, on arrival, found no sign of life. A doctor visited and pronounced death at the scene.

The body was identified by siblings of the deceased.

Police are treating this as a “sudden death as no foul play is suspected at this stage”. (PR
