A COVID-19 outbreak has occurred at a nursing home in the catchment area of the Brandford Taitt Polyclinic in Black Rock, St Michael.

Officials at the Ministry of Health are now putting measures in place to establish the home as an isolation facility.

After two people there were positive for the viral illness, 25 members of staff and residents were tested, resulting in 17 new positives. All current residents at the facility are fully vaccinated and of the 13 staff members, 10 are fully vaccinated and one has received the first dose.

In following previously established guidelines for the management of outbreaks at nursing homes, once it is declared an isolation facility, all affected people will be cared for on the compound. (PR/SAT)
