Barbados has withdrawn from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3×3 Americup 2021.

The Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) was forced to make the tough decision as COVID-19 restrictions on the island prevented a local season from being staged this year.

As a result, the island’s top senior players will not be competing in the tournament slated for November 12-14 in Miami.

It was set to be the first regional competition for Barbadian players at the national level since the pandemic.

The news was confirmed by BABA president Francis Williams who addressed the media yesterday in a virtual press conference. (AGB)
