Barbados finally has the dream team for the Billie Jean King Tennis Cup.

However, the conditions will play a major factor on the team’s performance in the tournament which starts today in Bolivia.

The island’s best junior female players Hannah Chambers, Serena Bryan and Gabrielle Leslie have been drawn in Group 2 and will take on the likes of Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.

“We have the team that we have been trying to put together for years. With scheduling and availability, the three girls have never been available at the same time and these are our top girls. It is going to be a learning experience and I am excited to see how the team will do,” team captain Andrew Thornton told Midweek Sport during a telephone interview on Monday. (AGB)
