‘Don’t fight’ for employer’s cash

Employees have been advised not to put up a fight with anyone who is robbing them of their employer’s money.

Handing it over might save your life, said Justice Carlisle Greaves.

“This is one of those cases, having regard to the outcome for the victim in this case, why it is wise that those who find themselves about to be robbed, particularly of their employer’s assets, not to get into any tussle with the robbers and let them go ’long with the property. It may save their lives because frankly very often the employer might not stand up for you and if you’re dead they certainly can’t,” the judge said yesterday in the No. 3 Supreme Court.

His comments came as he dealt with Nakimo Kenyatta Skeete formerly of 2nd Avenue, Deanes Village, Hindsbury Road, St Michael, and now of Duncan’s, St Philip, who had been found guilty of assaulting Jerome Collins with intent to rob him on January 22, 2013. (HLE)
