Attorney Arthur Holder says the decision in an appeal before the Trinidad and Tobago-based Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) involving Stephen Alexander Alleyne will directly impact the outcome of another case before the High Court here.
He made the point yesterday in the No. 4 Supreme Court in the case of Remy Reeco Rock, who was appearing before Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell. Crown Counsel Kevin Forde appeared on behalf of Senior Crown Counsel Neville Watson, who is prosecuting.
Rock, 32, of Small Land, Bridge Gap, St Michael, had been charged with buggering a 15-year-old boy on May 1, 2015.
On Tuesday, Holder, along with Rhea Layne, Nkasi Blair, Ensley Grainger and Mariah Arthur, who are also representing Alleyne, 48, of Crusher Site Road, Prospect, St James, made a virtual appearance before the CCJ following a challenge by the Crown to the dismissal of the case against Alleyne. (RA)
