284 new virus cases

There were 284 people – 119 males and 165 females – identified as COVID-19 positive on Tuesday, November 16. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1 590 tests.

Of the new cases, 56 people were under the age of 18, and 228 were 18 years and older.

There were 923 people in isolation facilities, and 7 512 in home isolation.

Seven deaths were recorded – five men aged, 36, 58, 67, 75 and 77, and one woman died at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility, while an 89-year-old woman passed away at the Blackman and Gollop Isolation Facility. They were all unvaccinated. As at November 16, 204 people had died from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 418 549 tests since February last year, and recorded 22 923 cases (10,972 males and 11 951 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 152 095 (66.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 133 284 (49.2 per cent of the total population or 58.4 per cent of the eligible population).
