113 new COVID cases from 777 tests

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 113 positive COVID-19 cases – 54 males and 59 females – on Tuesday, November 30 from 777 tests.

The new cases comprised 22 people under the age of 18, and 91 who were 18 years and older.

A total of 416 people were in isolation facilities, and 2 469 were in home isolation.

Two women, an unvaccinated 57-year-old, and a partially vaccinated 83-year-old, died from the virus on Tuesday at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility.  As at November 30, there were 231 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 437 308 tests since February last year, and recorded 25 429 cases (12 119 males and 13 310 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 153 586 (67.2 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 136 759 (50.5 per cent of the total population or 59.9 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
