Barbadian horsemen continued to do well in North America, as jockeys Keveh Nicholls and Christopher Husbands were victorious in Toronto, while trainer Saffie Joseph Jr won in Florida on Thursday.

At Woodbine Race Track, where the season will end today, Nicholls won the opener when he guided home two-year-old brown filly Breathing Fire in an Optional Claiming six-furlong race by two and a quarter lengths in one minute, 11.07 seconds.

Five races later, Husbands, who captured his first Fort Erie riding title in Ontario a couple of months ago, delivered with the three-year-old brown filly Billylane.

Going five and a half furlongs in Claiming company, Husbands swept to the lead late in the home straight and pulled away for a two-and-three-quarter-length success. (LY)
