106 new virus cases

Forty-seven men and 59 women were the most recent people diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19). They were identified from the 1 218 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Monday, December 6.

Of the 106 new cases, 14 people were under the age of 18, and 92 were 18 years and older.

People in isolation facilities numbered 303, while 2 084 were in home isolation.

As at December 6, there were 240 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 445 197 tests since February last year, and recorded 26 306 cases (12 541 males and 13 765 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 154 081 (67.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 138 416 (51.1 per cent of the total population or 60.6 per cent of the eligible population).
