The Barbados Light & Power Company (BLPC) says it could have done better with its disaster responses this year.

Director of operations and hurricane coordinator at BLPC, Johann Greaves, made that admission yesterday while announcing they were already preparing for the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season.

During a press conference, which was held in partnership with the Barbados Association of Retired Persons in Christie’s Conference Room, Garrison, St Michael, Greaves recalled that the freak storm on June 17, which saw 46 290 lighting strikes in one night, impacted heavily on their system.

He also said the damage from Hurricane Elsa on July 2 was extensive. (TG)
