Domestic football competition could return to Barbados next year for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials at the Barbados Football Association (BFA) are making plans to stage the Premier League once permission is granted by Government.
This was revealed by BFA general secretary Edwyn Wood in a telephone interview with Sun Sport.
“Hopefully, the pandemic conditions allow for permission to restart football from the Government so the leagues can commence,” he said.
“Our women will also have their World Cup qualifiers in February and April and we are hoping to get enough practice and game preparation in order to do well.
“We want a closer relationship with Government and schools to see an improvement in [the] numbers participating in women’s football to be able to boost their competitions.” (AGB)
