Beachgoers headed to the stretch of shore behind Copacabana, Bay Street, St Michael, were in for a shock over the weekend.

Those who attempted to get to the popular beach by vehicle were barred from accessing the road from just beyond the traffic lights at the junction of Bay Street and Jemmotts Lane.

When a DAILY NATION team visited the area yesterday, three metal cans were cemented into the ground.

At least three vehicles with people hoping to soak up some seawater were forced to turn around. (RA)
