Roman Catholic cleric Father Clement Paul has rededicated Queen’s College as an educational institution.
The Husbands, St James campus was used as an isolation facility during the spike in coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases.
It was officially handed over to the Ministry of Education last December and work is ongoing to get it ready in time for the restart of face-to-face classes on Monday.
Also in attendance during the ceremony were Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, Barbados Secondary Teachers Union president Mary Redman and other education officials.
Other schools used as isolation facilities included Blackman & Gollop Primary in St Michael; Christ Church Foundation School in Christ Church; Lester Vaughan Secondary School in St Thomas and Daryll Jordan Secondary School in St Lucy.
Father Paul rededicated Queen’s College and Daryll Jordan, while Senator Reverend Dr John Rogers rededicated Blackman & Gollop, Foundation and Lester Vaughan.
Education officials announced this week that face-to-face classes will resume in a phased manner. (RA)
