The Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) is appealing to the public to give generously to the family of slain minibus driver Victor Walton.
Walton, 56, of Haynesville, St James was shot twice in the head on December 1 while working the Checker Hall, St Lucy route.
He was placed on life support but died on December 10 and was buried January 4.
Walton’s tragic death sparked calls for a cashless system to be enacted on the public service vehicles (psvs).
Yesterday, the AOPT, in collaboration with family friend Toney Olton, met alongside Walton’s sister Juliette to officially launch a fund to pay for Walton’s funeral expenses as well as to help pay for his 12-year-old son Joshua Thompson’s education.
